National Journalist Susie BearneSuzanne Bearne is a national journalist who’s written for the BBC, The Guardian, The Independent, Marketing Week and who runs the The Guardian’s PR masterclass. After a decade in journalism she knows what journalists are looking for from a story, and how tweaking your pitch and your approach can have a major impact in securing press coverage.

 

 

 

Sara Hawthorn under rainbow arches in LeedsSara Hawthorn is a former journalist, visiting lecturer in Digital Marketing at Leeds Trinity University, and the founder and director of technical PR agency InFusion Comms, which works with clients in the construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. As the intermediary between clients and journalists, she understands the needs of both parties when pitching stories to trade, local media and business publications and will share best practice, what to avoid and how to become press ready.
