Asking someone else to take the reins of a project which has been built up and carefully looked after in-house can be a concern. With something as instant and reactionary as social media those worries are completely understandable.

Establishing trust and implementing smart processes

As a well-known and established name in the laminate manufacturing space, our client’s social channels were followed by architects, designers, fabricators and home owners. They needed our support to maintain brand awareness and stay connected with their audience whilst their in-house team was seconded to another project.

Prior to starting we had a training day at the client’s offices where the current social media manager took us through their processes and provided us with a fantastically detailed brief for a clean handover. We were given access to an online media library to ensure we posted high-quality images and access to the company’s designated platform for posting. We quickly brought ourselves up to speed on use of the software, created a detailed spreadsheet for the post approval process and a timeline for post approval.

In addition to the daily posting responsibilities, we monitored channels for comments, messages, sales queries, post mentions and tags, and complaints, responding in the agreed way to maintain reputation and professionalism. The statistics highlighted above prove that we not only maintained their social status but increased reach, engagement and interest in their different pages and profiles.

Being social with social media

During our four-month contract we also provided industry trade show support providing live video feeds, on-stand interviews – including securing an interview with TV personality and designer Linda Barker on the client’s stand – photography and live-tweeting a presentation by a key member of our client’s team. This not only boosted our client’s presence at the show but also provided a bank of valuable content we could roll out over the next few weeks.

Our social media support may have come to an end but we are continuing to work with the client supporting them with copywriting and the production of marketing literature.
